Yield Makes 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 11

1/2 cup dried fruit (such as goji berries, cranberries, or barberries)
1/2 cup steel-cut oats
1/2 cup well-rinsed quinoa
1/4 cup raisins
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoons ground cardamom
Milk
Maple syrup
Toasted shelled pumpkin seeds (pepitas)
Toasted walnuts

Steps:

  • Bring 1/2 cup dried fruit (such as goji berries, cranberries, or barberries), 1/2 cup steel-cut oats, 1/2 cup well-rinsed quinoa, 1/4 cup raisins, 1 teaspoon kosher salt, 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoons ground cardamom, and 4 cups water to a boil in a medium saucepan. This recipe is a bit too sweet for my taste. I would reduce the amount of sugar next time.

I'm not a fan of the texture of quinoa, so I cooked it separately from the oats. It turned out great!

I'm allergic to nuts, so I omitted the walnuts from this recipe. It was still delicious!

This cereal was a bit bland for my taste. I added some honey and cinnamon to sweeten it up.

Followed the recipe and it came out great! I used almond milk instead of regular milk and it was still very creamy.

This hot oat quinoa cereal was a delicious and nutritious way to start my day! The quinoa added a nice nutty flavor and texture to the oats, and the berries and nuts gave it a sweet and crunchy touch. I'll definitely be making this again.
