Time 4h20m

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 c milk
1/2 stick butter
6 c flour
3 pkg dry active yeast
1 1/2 tsp salt
3/4 c sugar
2 eggs
1/3 c oil
2/3 c water

Steps:

  • 1. In a bowl mix milk, water and butter. Heat to warm (not hot) in microwave. In a large bowl mix 3 cups flour, yeast, salt and sugar. Mix well. Add liquid ingredients to dry mixture. Once mixed together well, add eggs and oil. Mix well, then begin adding the last three cups of flour, one cup at a time. You will have to use your hands to mix properly. Dough will be stiff. Put dough in a large bowl next to warm stove to let rise until double. Once dough has doubled in size, punch down and knead. Pinch dough to make hot rolls. Put in greased pan, let stand in warm place until double in size. Once doubled, bake at 350 degrees until golden brown. Butter tops of baked hot rolls.

These rolls were a bit too greasy for my taste. I think I'll try using less butter next time.

These rolls were a bit bland. I think I'll try adding some herbs and spices to the filling next time.

These rolls were really easy to make, but they didn't turn out as fluffy as I was hoping. I think I overmixed the dough.

These rolls were a bit too dry for my taste. I think I'll try adding a little bit of milk to the dough next time.

I'm not a huge fan of hot rolls, but these were really good. The filling was so flavorful and the dough was so soft and fluffy.

These rolls are so versatile. You can fill them with anything you like. I've tried them with ham and cheese, pepperoni and mozzarella, and even spinach and feta.

I love that these rolls are made with whole wheat flour. They're a healthier alternative to traditional white bread rolls.
