Number Of Ingredients 2

I box German Chocolate cake mix (may use regular chocolate cake mix)
I can ready-to-spread coconut almond frosting

Steps:

  • Prepare the cake mix batter as directed on the box; before pouring into the cake pan, fold the can of frosting into the cake mix batter by hand and then bake according to time on box...I find I may need a few more minutes. The frosting will bake into the cake giving it a wonderful, moist, taste! I put a little powdered sugar on top after it cools but it requires no other frosting...easy to pack in lunches since the gooey frosting is not on top.

I'm allergic to nuts, so I omitted the pecans from the frosting. The cake was still delicious, and the frosting was just as creamy and decadent.

This cake is a little sweet for my taste, but it's still very good. I would recommend using less sugar in the frosting if you don't like your cakes too sweet.

I used dark chocolate chips in the frosting instead of semisweet chocolate chips, and it turned out great! The frosting was rich and chocolatey, and it paired perfectly with the coconut-pecan filling.
