Steaming eggs makes them easier to peel. This method in the Instant Pot worked well for me. When I tried the "5-5-5" method (5 min. high pressure, 5 min. Natural Pressure Release, 5 minutes ice bath), my eggs had a tinge of green around the yolk. This "4-3-6" method gave perfectly done eggs. Next time I found 6...

Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 c water
8 large eggs
ice packs/ice/very cold water

Steps:

  • 1. Put 1 cup water in 8 qt. Instant Pot. Place rack in pot. Place 8 eggs on rack, with space between each egg.
  • 2. I live at 670' elevation. Higher elevations may have longer cooking times. Similarly, bigger eggs may need longer. Pressure cook high 4 min. 3 minutes NR. Immediately place eggs in an ice water bath for 6 minutes. (I partially fill sink with cold tap water & add all my ice packs to it.) Alternatively, you can pressure cook high 6 minutes, immediate manual pressure release, then ice bath for 5 minutes. Smack egg & roll on counter to crack shell, then peel. Store in fridge.

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my eggs didn't come out right. I'll try again next time.

These eggs were perfect for my deviled egg recipe. They were easy to peel and they held their shape well.

I was disappointed with this recipe. The eggs were not cooked evenly and the shells were difficult to peel.

These eggs were a bit overcooked for my taste, but they were still good. I'll try cooking them for a shorter amount of time next time.

I've tried other methods for hard-boiling eggs, but this one is by far the best. The eggs are always cooked perfectly and the shells are easy to peel.

These hard-boiled eggs came out perfectly! I've never had such an easy time peeling them before. They were also cooked evenly throughout.
