In different parts of Italy this sandwich is made different ways. This is the Roman way with ham inside.

Steps:
- 1. Cut the crusts off the bread.
- 2. Put a slice of ham and 2 slices of cheese between 2 slices of bread.
- 3. Put flour on a plate and dredge sandwiches until covered.
- 4. Combine eggs and milk in a bowl. Dip sandwiches until completed coated with egg milk wash.
- 5. Arrange bread crumbs on plate and completely cover sandwich with crumbs to keep cheese and ham inside.
- 6. Heat the oil a in a deep heavy sauce-pan over medium high heat until temperature reads 350 F.
- 7. Deep fry 2 minutes on each or until crispy and brown all over.
- 8. Drain on paper towel and serve immediately.
