Italian meatloaf image

I came up with this one night when I didn't have any ketchup. My family loves it. You can serve with potatoes and other veggies or go with pasta using the remaining sauce.

1 lb ground round
1 pkg lipton beef onion soup mix
1 tsp garlic powder
1 large egg
3/4 c italian bread crumbs
2 c mozzarella cheese
1 1/2 c your favorite tomato pasta sauce

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375.In a large bowl add beef, soup mix, garlic powder, egg, bread crumbs and 1/2 of pasta sauce. Mix well. Divide meat mixture into two equal halves.
  • 2. Using a baking dish or loaf pan take first half of meat mixture and shape on the pan in desired shape, top with 1 cup of cheese. Top with second half of meat mixture (same shape as bottom)Cook on 375 for 35 minutes top with remaining sauce and remaining cheese, cook for another 5 minutes.
