Jalapeno Jack Burgers image

These are very spicy but so good. If you want less spicy, you can use a less spicy pepper - like a poblano. These are great on the grill or any other way you cook a burger!!

Time 30m

Yield 4 burgers, 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 jalapenos
1 lb ground beef
1 egg
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 teaspoon seasoning salt
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup onion, finely diced
4 slices monterey jack pepper cheese

Steps:

  • On the grill or under the broiler, roast the jalapeno peppers whole, until they start to turn black. Once they are black on all sides, put into a brown paper bag, close and let sit 5 minutes. Remove from bag and peel off skin.
  • Using a knife, slit open jalapenos, and take the seeds out and remove the stem. Cut jalapenos in half so you have 4 total slices of jalapeno. Set aside.
  • In a bowl combine ground beef, 1 egg, ketchup, salt, garlic, and onions. You may also use any other seasonings you like in your hamburger mixture. Mix well.
  • Form 8 thin patties. Take one slice of jalapeno and one slice of pepper jack cheese and place on 4 of the patties. Top each patty with remaining four patties and seal the edges together so the cheese doesn't leak out.
  • Grill burgers or cook as usual until done. Your burgers will have a spicy, cheesey surprise in the middle of each one. Delicious!

I thought these burgers were pretty good. The jalapeños added a nice kick of heat and the Jack cheese was a nice, creamy addition.

These burgers were just okay. They weren't bad, but they weren't anything special either.

I'm not sure what went wrong with these burgers. I followed the recipe exactly, but they turned out really tough and chewy.

These burgers were a huge disappointment. The flavors just didn't come together and the burgers were really bland.

I found that the burgers were a little dry. I think next time I'll add some more moisture to the meat, maybe by using ground chuck instead of ground beef.

These burgers were a bit too spicy for my taste, but my husband loved them.

The only thing I would change about these burgers is that I would cook them for a little less time. I found that they were a little overcooked for my taste.

I would definitely recommend these burgers to anyone who loves a good, spicy burger.

These burgers had just the right amount of heat from the jalapeños. The Jack cheese was also a great choice, as it added a nice, creamy flavor to the burgers.

I've made these burgers several times now and they're always a hit with my family and friends. They're so easy to make and they always turn out delicious.

These burgers were amazing! The combination of the spicy jalapeños and the creamy Jack cheese was perfect!
