Jeff Davis Pie I image

This is an old southern recipe.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 ¾ cups white sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 pinch ground nutmeg
½ cup butter
4 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch single crust pie

Steps:

  • Mix together the sugar, flour and spices. Stir in butter. Beat in eggs and add milk and vanilla. Mix well.
  • Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake 10 to 15 minutes at 400 degrees F (205 degrees C), then reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and bake 30 minutes more or until pie sets.
