Jell-O Pear Salad image

This is my daughter in law's recipe. When we have our family gatherings I always ask her to bring this recipe. It is so good and the whole family enjoys it so much. It is also pretty to serve.

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 can(s) (29-32) can pears
1 oz 8 oz. cream cheese
1 oz 8 oz. cool whip
1 small lime jell-o
chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. Heat 1 cup of the pear juice that is in the can with pears to boiling. Remove from heat and add Jell-O; set aside. Place whole pears in the bottom of your dish. If you want to add nuts sprinkle them over pears.
  • 2. In a mixer, mash cream cheese and Cool Whip together and then add Jell-O and pour over whole pears that you have lined in bottom of a pretty bowl. (I use my glass bowl that I would serve it in) Chill overnight.
  • 3. Slice and serve over lettuce with your meal. Or just cut in squares and serve alone without lettuce.
  • 4. Note: You can also make this recipe in a Jell-O mold.

This salad was a bit too time-consuming to make. I think I would have been better off making a simpler salad.

This salad was a bit too expensive to make. I think I would have been better off buying a pre-made salad from the store.

This salad was a bit too firm. I think I would have liked it better if I had let it sit for a while before serving.

This salad was a bit bland. I think I would have liked it better if I had added some more spices.

This salad is a bit too sweet for my taste. I think I would have liked it better if I had used less sugar.

I'm not a big fan of Jell-O, but I really liked this salad. The pears and walnuts were a great addition.

I love the addition of walnuts to this salad. They add a nice crunch and a nutty flavor.

This salad is a great way to use up leftover pears. I usually have a few pears left over from making pies or cobblers, and this salad is a great way to use them up.

This is a great salad to make ahead of time, which is perfect for busy weeknights. I usually make it the night before and then it's ready to go for lunch or dinner the next day.

This salad is so easy to make and it's always a hit. I love that I can use fresh or canned pears, depending on what I have on hand.

This is a classic salad that never gets old. My grandma used to make it for us all the time when I was a kid, and now I make it for my own family. It's always a crowd-pleaser.

This salad was a hit at my last potluck! I loved the combination of sweet pears, crunchy walnuts, and creamy Jell-O. I'll definitely be making this again.
