Key Lime Daiquiri image

At the end of the 19th century, Americans discovered one of Cuba's secrets: a simple combination of rum, sugar, and lime that achieved fame as the daiquiri, named after the town of the same name.

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 ounces (1/4 cup) fresh key lime juice (from 8 to 10 Key limes; or regular lime juice from 2 to 3 limes)
2 ounces (1/4 cup) light rum
2 tablespoons simple syrup
1 cup ice
Half a key lime, for garnish

Steps:

  • Combine lime juice, light rum, simple syrup, and ice in a cocktail shaker; shake well. Add more simple syrup to taste if desired. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with half a key lime.
