Maid Rites (loose meat sandwiches) image

If you have ever been to the Mid-West or watched Rosanne you probably have heard of Maid-Rite also known as the loose meat sandwich. It's a kind of sloppy joe without the red sauce. It is served with mustard, pickle and onion but I do like mine with ketchup on it too. Not sure where this recipe comes from originally....

2 Tbsp dried onions
1 Tbsp warm water
3 lb ground beef
1 beef bouillon, cubes

2 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp cider vinegar

These sandwiches were a bit too greasy for my taste. I think I would drain the meat more next time.

I'm not a huge fan of loose meat sandwiches, but I have to say, these were pretty good. The meat was well-seasoned and the sauce was flavorful. I would definitely make these again.

These sandwiches are so easy to make and they're always delicious. I love that I can customize them with my favorite toppings. I always add cheese and onions, but I've also tried bacon, peppers, and mushrooms. They're all delicious.

The sauce was a little too spicy for me. I think I would use less chili powder next time.

The meat was a little dry for my liking. I think I would add a little more liquid to the pan next time.
