MARY LOU'S MANDARIN SALAD image

Number Of Ingredients 13

1/4 C sliced almonds
1 - T + 1 tsp sugar
1/4- C oil
2 - T sugar
2 - T vinegar
1 - T parsley
1/2 -tsp salt
dash of red pepper sauce
1/4 - head lettuce (bite sized pieces)
1/4 - bunch romaine ( bite sized pieces)
1 - can mandarin oranges
1 - C sliced celery
kewi fruit

Steps:

  • Cook almonds and sugar over low heat stirring constantly until sugar in melted and almonds are coated (ML always needs more sugar) Cool and break apart. Store at room temp. ******* Shake and refrigerate next 6 ingredients for sweet & sour dressing. ******* Mix next 6 ingredients with almonds and dressing. You can substitute pineapple and water chestnuts for oranges or add an extra can of oranges if you want it to go further. Serves 5
