- add sliced onion and sugar, toss.
- Fry bacon till crisp- remove from pan.
- Drain and crumble bacon.
- Add vinegar and water to bacon grease- let come to a boil.
- Pour over lettuce onion and bacon.
- Mix well.
- Serve at once.
