Steps:
- 1. Over moderate heat, add oil to a deep pot and combine onion, peppers, and garlic. Saute until onions are starting to become golden. 2. Deglaze pan with beer, broth, or water. 3. Add tomatoes, black beans, dark and light red kidney beans, stirring to combine. 4. Add all the seasonings to the chili except for salt. 5. Thicken chili by stirring in refried beans. 6. Simmer over low heat about 30 minutes, stirring frequently to avoid scorching. 7. Taste the chili and add salt to your liking. Simmer 10 minutes longer.
