Back when I was a kid, my mom always made these around the Holidays. They were always SO good I could never stay out of them! This is one that I HAD to start making for my family during the Holidays. You can omit the raisins and or the pecans, but I've just always followed my Mom's recipe and added them.

Steps:
- 1. In a large pan, Mix sugar, shortening, milk, cocoa and bring to a boil. Boil 1 minute. Add peanut butter and stir until peanut butter is melted.
- 2. Remove from heat and add 1 teaspoon vanilla, oatmeal, pecans and raisins. Mix well and drop from spoon onto wax paper.
- 3. Cool. After cooled store in an air tight container.
