Number Of Ingredients 8

2 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup whipping cream
1 egg, slightly beaten
3/4 cup chopped unpeeled red Bartlett pear
1/2 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
1 tablespoon coarse sugar
8 walnut halves

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 425°F. Lightly spray cookie sheet with cooking spray. In medium bowl, stir Bisquick mix and granulated sugar. Stir in whipping cream and egg until dough forms. Fold in pear and chopped walnuts.
  • On cookie sheet, pat dough into 8-inch round (if dough is sticky, dip fingers in Bisquick mix). Sprinkle with coarse sugar. Using sharp knife, cut round into 8 wedges, but do not separate. Place walnut half on top of each wedge.
  • Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 5 minutes; carefully separate wedges. Serve warm.

I don't have a baking dish, so I made these scones in a muffin tin. They turned out perfectly!

I'm allergic to walnuts, so I substituted pecans. The scones still turned out great!

These scones were a disaster! They were so dry and crumbly, I couldn't even eat them.

The scones were good, but I found them to be a bit bland. I think I'll add some spices next time, like cinnamon or nutmeg.

These scones were a little too dry for my taste. I think I'll add a bit more milk next time.
