Refrigerator Coleslaw image

This was my mama's favorite coleslaw! It is very delicious with pinto beans.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 large cabbage head, shredded
1 large bell pepper, chopped
1 large onion, chopped
1/2 c sugar
2/3 c vinegar--i prefer white
1/2 c crisco oil
1 tsp salt
1 tsp mustardseed (or mustard)
1 tsp celery seeds

Steps:

  • 1. Mix cabbage, pepper, and onions
  • 2. Bring to boil: sugar, vinegar,oil, salt, mustard, and celery seeds.
  • 3. Pour over cabbage mixture and mix well. Cover. Will keep in the refrigerator for several days.
