Rum Tarts Aka Butter Tarts image

These are the best tarts, my favorite. Easy to make and wonderful tasting. I use dark rum for a little added flavor. Oh and I cheat and use store bought tart shells but you can use homemade.

These tarts are a great way to use up leftover fruit. I often make them with fruit that is starting to get a little overripe.

I've made these tarts with different types of fruit and they are always delicious. My favorite is the classic rum raisin, but I also love the apple and the cherry.

I'm not a huge fan of rum, but I really enjoyed these tarts. The rum flavor is subtle and it really complements the other flavors in the filling.
