Salsa Chicken image

I got this reipe from Allrecipes years ago and modified it to suit our tastes. It is a family favorite! Do not leave the Sour Creeam or Green Oniions out they make the dish!

Number Of Ingredients 6

6 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
2 tablespoons taco seasoning mix
1 1/2 cups salsa
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
3 tablespoons sour cream
2 green onions, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
  • Place chicken breasts in a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle taco seasoning on both sides of chicken breasts, and pour salsa over all.
  • Bake at 375 degrees F for 25 to 35 minutes, or until chicken is tender and juicy and its juices run clear.
  • Sprinkle chicken evenly with cheese, and continue baking for an additional 3 to 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Top with sour cream and sprinkle with green onions.

Yum! This was a great recipe. I made it for dinner last night and my husband and kids loved it. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the salsa was the perfect amount of spicy. I'll definitely be adding this to my regular rotation.
