Sauteed Okra image

This sauteed okra recipe is a quick and easy side dish. Garlic, salt, and pepper add a touch of flavor while allowing the taste of the okra to take center stage.

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 pound fresh okra, ends trimmed
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
salt and ground black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add okra and cook, stirring occasionally, until bright green, 3 to 4 minutes. Push the okra to the sides and add 1 teaspoon oil and garlic to the center of the skillet; cook for 1 minute. Stir the garlic and okra together until combined.
  • Serve hot, seasoned with salt and pepper.
