Scrumptious Pear Pie image

My MIL gave this recipe to me years ago. It's always been a huge hit with my family. Hope you enjoy it!

Yield 1 pie

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 cups pears
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup butter, divided in half and melted
2 pie crusts
additional sugar, to sprinkle on top of pie

Steps:

  • Combine pears, sugar, flour, vanilla, and 1/2 stick melted butter.
  • Pour in one pie shell.
  • Cover with the other pie shell.
  • Sprinkle with sugar and remaining 1/2 stick melted butter.
  • Bake at 400 degrees for 45 minutes.
