Slow Cooker Calico Beans image

Calico beans are a satisfying cross between chili, baked beans, and a sloppy joe filling. Full of a homemade barbecue-style sauce, these calico beans are meaty, tangy, salty, and deliciously perfect for any barbecue, picnic, or potluck you are heading to!

This recipe was a total fail. The beans were hard and the sauce was watery. I won't be making this recipe again.

The beans were a bit overcooked, but the flavor was still good. I'll try cooking them for less time next time.

These beans were a bit bland for my taste. I think I'll add some more spices next time.

These beans were a bit too spicy for my taste, but my husband loved them. I think I'll try making them again with less cayenne pepper.

These beans were delicious! I used a ham bone instead of bacon, and they turned out great. I also added a few chopped carrots and celery for extra flavor.
