Slow-Cooker Smoky Barbecue Beef Sandwiches image

These intensely flavored ground beef hoagies are astoundingly easy. Just add prepared sauces and a touch of chipotle chile.

2 1/2 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce
1/3 cup teriyaki baste and glaze sauce
1 tablespoon finely chopped chipotle chiles in adobo sauce (from 7-oz can)
1 teaspoon salt
10 soft hoagie buns (6 to 7 inch), split

Steps:

  • In 12-inch nonstick skillet or Dutch oven, brown ground beef over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes or until thoroughly cooked, stirring frequently. Drain well.
  • In 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker, mix cooked ground beef and remaining ingredients except buns.
  • Cover; cook on Low heat setting 4 to 6 hours.
  • To serve, stir beef mixture. Spoon 1/2 cup beef mixture into each bun.
