Sticky Banana Rice image

This recipe was inspired by the description of the food in a book titled The Airmen and the Headhunters, in which American airmen during WWII were downed in the jungles of Bornea. They survived only by the kindness and generosity of the Dayaks, native Borneans of the inland jungle. This is very sweet, so it makes a good dessert.

This dish is a great way to use up overripe bananas. I always have a few bananas that are about to go bad, so this is a perfect recipe for me.

I'm not a big fan of bananas, so I wasn't sure if I would like this dish. But I was actually surprised at how much I enjoyed it! The bananas added a subtle sweetness to the rice, and the coconut milk made it very creamy.

This dish was just okay. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special either.

The rice was a bit mushy for my liking. I think I would have cooked it for a little less time.

This dish was a bit too sweet for my taste. I think I would have preferred it with less brown sugar.

This was my first time making sticky banana rice, and it turned out great! The rice was fluffy and flavorful, and the bananas were perfectly caramelized. I will definitely be making this again.

I love how easy this dish is to make. I always have bananas and rice on hand, so it's a great last-minute meal. The addition of coconut milk and brown sugar gives it a rich and flavorful taste.

This sticky banana rice was a hit at my dinner party! The bananas added a natural sweetness that balanced out the savory flavors of the rice and chicken. The rice was cooked perfectly and had a lovely chewy texture. I will definitely be making this d
