Time 55m

Yield 10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 11

1/2 cup butter (melted)
1 egg (lightly beaten)
1 cup milk
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped toasted walnuts (optional)
2 quarts strawberries (capped and washed ~ cut large berries in half)
4 ounces low-fat cream cheese (Neufchatel preferred, cut into small pieces)
plain Greek yogurt (optional) or vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Pour melted butter into a 9-by-13-inch glass baking dish.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the egg, milk, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Pour directly over the butter in the baking dish, but do not stir.
  • Add the strawberries, arranging in a single layer as much as possible.
  • Sprinkle cream cheese pieces and optional walnuts over strawberries.
  • Place in preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes, or until top is golden brown and edges are bubbling. (Crust rises up and around the fruit, but fruit will still peek out of top.).
  • Serve hot out of the oven with choice of topping, if desired.

This cobbler was really good! I loved the combination of strawberries and cream cheese. The biscuit topping was also very good. I will definitely be making this again.

I wasn't a big fan of this cobbler. I found the biscuit topping to be too heavy and the cream cheese filling to be too sweet. I think I would have liked it better if the biscuit topping had been lighter and if the cream cheese filling had been less s

This cobbler was just okay. It wasn't anything special, but it wasn't bad either. I think it would have been better if I had used a different recipe for the biscuit topping and if I had used sweeter strawberries.

This cobbler was a disaster! The biscuit topping was dry and the strawberries were mushy. I think I would have liked it better if I had used a different recipe for the biscuit topping and if I had used fresher strawberries.

This cobbler was okay. It wasn't anything special, but it wasn't bad either. I think it would have been better if I had used fresh strawberries instead of frozen strawberries.

This cobbler was a little disappointing. The biscuit topping was dry and the strawberries were tart. I think I would have liked it better if I had used a different recipe for the biscuit topping and if I had used sweeter strawberries.

I've made this cobbler several times now and it's always a hit. It's so easy to make and it's always delicious. I love the combination of strawberries and cream cheese. I also like to add a little bit of lemon zest to the filling for a little extra f

I love the combination of strawberries and cream cheese in this cobbler. The biscuit topping is also a nice touch. I found that the cobbler was a little too sweet for my taste, so I cut back on the sugar in the filling. It was perfect!

This cobbler was a hit with my family! The strawberries were sweet and juicy, the cream cheese filling was rich and creamy, and the biscuit topping was buttery and flaky. I will definitely be making this again.
