I got this recipe from a friend of my Mom's back in the 1990's. She had just discovered Vidalia onions. This is a wonderful side dish, especially served with beef or grilled foods.

I'm not a big fan of onions, but I actually really enjoyed this dish. The custard was smooth and creamy and the onions were perfectly caramelized.

This is a great recipe for using up leftover onions. I always have a few extra onions lying around and this is a great way to use them up.

This was a bit too sweet for my taste, but I think it would be great with a savory main course.

I thought this dish was just okay. The custard was a bit bland and the onions were a bit too caramelized for my taste.

I love the idea of this dish, but I found it to be a bit too sweet for my taste. I think I would reduce the amount of sugar next time.
