The Best Alfredo Garlic Sauce Ever image

I will never buy alfredo sauce in a jar again. This is amazing and very easy to make. I use it in the Chicken Alfredo Roll-ups and Chicken Alfredo Pizza.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/2 cup butter
2 ounces cream cheese
2 cups heavy cream
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic, fresh minced
salt
pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
2/3 cup parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • In a medium to large saucepan melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Add fresh minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  • Add the cream cheese and whisk until smooth and melted.
  • Whisk in the heavy cream. ( I have substituted half & half.)
  • Season with the garlic powder, oregano, salt and pepper.
  • Bring to a simmer and whisk frequently until sauce thicken, around 15-20 minutes.
  • Stir in the parmesan cheese.
  • Remove from heat when cheese is melted.

Not bad, but not great either. I thought the sauce was a little bland, and the garlic flavor was overpowered by the cheese.

This is my new go-to Alfredo sauce recipe. It's so easy to make. I didn't have any heavy cream, so I used half and half instead, and it turned out great. I also added some chopped fresh parsley, which gave it a nice pop of flavor.
