Torta image

This is a favorite traditional Filipino torta recipe baked during holidays and special occasions. These little cakes are so good, it's difficult to just have one.

Number Of Ingredients 6

8 large eggyolks
2 c self-rising flour
1 c oil
1 c milk
1 1/2 c sugar
1 tsp vanilla

Steps:

  • 1. Cream oil & sugar.
  • 2. Add eggs and beat until creamy.
  • 3. Add flour alternately with milk then add vanilla.
  • 4. Line muffin tins with muffin cups and bake for 20-25 min at 350 degrees (pre-heated oven)
  • 5. Let the muffins cool completely and roll tops on sugar
  • 6. Note: The tins I used are traditional muffin tins used for this recipe which can be purchased from Oriental stores.
