Steps:
- 1. Sift together all the dry ingredients
- 2. Add the water oil and vinegar and mix thoroughly. This can be done with a spoon or mixer. If you use a mixer you will achieve a denser cake.
- 3. Bake in oven preheated to 350 degrees for approximately 30 minutes. Times will vary with ovens and elevations. Bake until fork inserted in center comes out clean.
- 4. Icing: Cream together the butter, crisco and white sugar.
- 5. Add in the flour one tablespoon at a time until incorporated.
- 6. Add both the milk and vanilla mixing until incorporated. do this slowly or may splatter everywhere.
- 7. Once ingredients are incorporated continue to mix on high for 12 minutes.
