Meet the Cook: Besides tasting good, these squares are a wonderful way to use up any leftover squash from dinner. Since my husband has a fertilizer-chemical business, I bake a lot of my squash squares for his crew and customers. We have five children, all of them married, and six grandchildren. -Shirley Murphy, Jacksonville, Illinois

These were a bit bland for my taste. I think I'll add some more spices next time.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my squash squares didn't turn out as expected. They were too dry and crumbly.

The squash squares turned out a bit too mushy for my taste, but the flavor was still good. I think I'll try roasting the squash instead of boiling it next time.

These winter squash squares were a hit with my family! The flavors were perfectly balanced and the texture was both tender and slightly crispy. I will definitely be making these again.
