2 pounds fresh bratwurst sausages
2 onions, thinly sliced
1 cup butter
6 bottles (12 fluid ounce) beer
1 1/2 teaspoons ground black pepper
10 hoagie rolls

  • Puncture bratwurst with fork to prevent them from exploding as they cook. Place in a large stock pot with the onions, butter, and beer. Place pot over medium heat, and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Preheat grill for medium-high heat.

This recipe is a waste of time. The brats didn't turn out at all.

I wouldn't recommend this recipe. The brats were tough and the flavor was bland.

These brats were just okay. They were a little dry and the flavor was just average.

I've tried many bratwurst recipes, but this one is by far the best. The beer and onions add so much flavor to the meat. I highly recommend this recipe!
