Apricot Moscow Mule image

The sour formula is the root of many cocktails, including margaritas and mules, perhaps because it's so easy to remember and so simple to adapt. All you need is: 1 part sweet, 1 part sour, and 2 parts alcohol.

⅛ cup chopped fresh ginger
⅛ cup white sugar
⅛ cup boiling water
crushed ice
3 fluid ounces vodka
1 ½ fluid ounces freshly squeezed lime juice
½ apricot, thinly sliced
4 fluid ounces club soda
1 lime wedge

Steps:

  • Put ginger, sugar, and boiling water in a blender; let stand 5 minutes. Blend into a smooth syrup.
  • Fill a copper mug with crushed ice. Add ginger simple syrup, vodka, lime juice, and apricot. Top with club soda. Squeeze lime wedge over top and drop into mug. Stir well.
