CHEF JEFF'S 7-LAYER BAR
"It's the ultimate comfort dessert; people rave about my 7-Layer Bar," says personal chef and caterer Jeff Blumsack of St. Augustine, Florida, whose primary focus is comfort food meals clients take home in a slow cooker. "I use this recipe for parties and it's always gobbled up off the dessert trays in two minutes and I also sell it to my Crockpot customers." The recipe has been passed from Blumsack's grandmother to his mother and now to him. "It's simple and decadent," he says.

Tips:
- Prepare the Crust First: Before making the other layers, start with the graham cracker crust. This ensures that the crust has time to set and firm up before adding the other layers.
- Use Quality Chocolate: The quality of the chocolate you use will greatly impact the taste of your 7-layer bars. Opt for high-quality semisweet or bittersweet chocolate for the best flavor.
- Don't Overmix: When making the coconut filling, be careful not to overmix the ingredients. Overmixing can result in a dry and crumbly filling.
- Chill Between Layers: After adding each layer, chill the bars before adding the next one. This helps the layers to set properly and prevents them from mixing together.
- Use a Sharp Knife: When cutting the bars, use a sharp knife to ensure clean and even slices.
