Tips:

  • Choose the right mushrooms. Button mushrooms, cremini mushrooms, and oyster mushrooms are all good choices for air frying. Avoid using mushrooms that are too wet or slimy, as they will not crisp up properly.
  • Slice the mushrooms evenly. This will help them cook evenly. If the mushrooms are too thick, they will not cook through in the air fryer.
  • Toss the mushrooms with oil and seasonings. This will help them crisp up and brown. You can use olive oil, avocado oil, or another type of healthy oil. For seasonings, try salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, or your favorite herbs.
  • Preheat the air fryer. This will help the mushrooms cook evenly. Most air fryers have a preheat setting. If yours does not, simply set the temperature to the desired cooking temperature and let the air fryer heat up for a few minutes before adding the mushrooms.
  • Cook the mushrooms in a single layer. This will help them crisp up and brown evenly. If you overcrowd the air fryer, the mushrooms will not cook properly.
  • Shake the air fryer basket halfway through cooking. This will help the mushrooms cook evenly. Simply remove the basket from the air fryer and give it a shake. Then, return the basket to the air fryer and continue cooking.

Conclusion:

Air frying is a quick and easy way to cook mushrooms. The mushrooms come out crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. They are a great addition to salads, sandwiches, wraps, and other dishes. With a little practice, you can easily make delicious air-fried mushrooms at home.
