CRISPY AIR-FRIED CHICKEN

Crispy Air-Fried Chicken image

This is super and makes a juicy and delicious chicken. The basting mixture is a win and adds an excellent flavor to the crispy skin. You can modify this for a whole bird, you will need to add more cooking time and you are going to want to truss your chicken to make sure the legs and wings are tucked in. (Google it, it's way easier than you think.)

Tips:

  • Choose the right air fryer: Select an air fryer with a capacity that suits your needs and cooking habits. A larger air fryer will allow you to cook more food at once, while a smaller one may be more compact and easier to store.
  • Preheat your air fryer: Preheating your air fryer helps ensure that the food cooks evenly and quickly. Most air fryers have a preheat setting, but you can also preheat it by setting it to the highest temperature for a few minutes before adding the food.
  • Marinate or season your chicken legs: Marinating or seasoning your chicken legs before cooking adds flavor and helps keep them moist. You can use a variety of marinades and seasonings, such as olive oil, herbs, spices, or a store-bought marinade.
  • Shake the air fryer basket during cooking: Shaking the air fryer basket during cooking helps ensure that the chicken legs cook evenly and prevents them from sticking to the basket. Shake the basket every few minutes, or according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Cook the chicken legs to the desired doneness: The cooking time for chicken legs in an air fryer will vary depending on the size of the legs and the desired level of doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the chicken legs to ensure that they are cooked to a safe minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit (74 degrees Celsius).

Conclusion:

Air fryer chicken legs are a delicious and healthy alternative to traditional fried chicken. They are crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with less fat and calories than fried chicken. You can use an air fryer to cook chicken legs in a variety of ways, including marinating them, seasoning them, or coating them in breading.
