Cherry-Pineapple Crumb Cobbler Recipe - (4.3/5) image

Provided by Susan52

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 (20-ounce) can pineapple rings, drained
1 (20-ounce) container cherry pie filling
1 (18.25-ounce) package yellow cake mix
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, sliced into pats

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a 9- x 13-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Place pineapple rings in bottom of prepared baking dish. Spoon cherry pie filling over top and sprinkle with dry cake mix. Top with butter pats. Bake 30 to 35 minutes, or until golden. Allow to cool slightly; serve warm.

Tips:

  • Use fresh, ripe cherries and pineapple for the best flavor. If using frozen fruit, thaw it completely before using.
  • If you don't have a food processor, you can chop the cherries and pineapple by hand. Just be sure to chop them into small pieces so that they cook evenly.
  • Don't overmix the crumble topping. Overmixing will make the topping tough.
  • Bake the crumble until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling. This usually takes about 30-35 minutes.
  • Let the crumble cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. This will help the topping set and the fruit to thicken.

Conclusion:

This cherry pineapple crumble is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. The sweet and tart cherries and pineapple are perfectly complemented by the buttery oat crumble topping. This crumble is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
