1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/3 cups sugar
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup biscuit mix (recommended: Bisquick)
1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 large eggs
Confectioners' sugar and/or unsweetened cocoa powder, optional

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a 9-inch pie plate with cooking spray.

4 large eggs, room temperature
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2-1/2 cups 2% milk
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to a 1/8-in.-thick circle; transfer to a 9-in. pie plate. Trim crust to 1/2 in. beyond rim of plate; flute edge. Refrigerate 30 minutes.
