I adapted this from a 50-year-old peach crisp recipe. Although it works well with peaches, it works even better with fresh, crisp cooking apples.

Tips:
- Choose the right apples: Use a variety of apples that hold their shape well when baked, such as Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Braeburn.
- Peel and slice the apples thinly: This will help them cook evenly and become tender.
- Use a combination of spices: Cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice are classic apple crisp spices, but you can also experiment with other flavors like ginger, cardamom, or cloves.
- Don't overmix the topping: The topping should be crumbly, not smooth. Overmixing will make it tough.
- Bake the apple crisp until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbling:
Conclusion:
Apple crisp is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a warm and comforting dish that the whole family will enjoy.
