Time 45m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1/2 c butter, room temperature
1/2 c applesauce
2 c sugar
1 c flour
1 c cocoa powder
1 c semi-sweet chocolate chips
4 medium eggs

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 175 Celsius or 350 Farenheit. Grease a 13x9 pan or just spray with PAM
  • 2. Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl
  • 3. Mix until well combined then give it a few extra beats to develop the gluten in the flour and make the brownies a little more chewy
  • 4. Pour into pregreased pan and bake for 30-40 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean. You want them to still be a little "uncooked" to the eye because they will continue to cook a little when you remove them from the oven. Be careful you don't mistake a melted chocolate chip for the batter still being uncooked!!!

APPLESAUCE BROWNIES (DIABETIC FRIENDLY) RECIPE - (4.6/5)

Applesauce Brownies (Diabetic friendly) Recipe - (4.6/5) image

Provided by sleepy-writer

Number Of Ingredients 11

Ingredients
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup chopped nuts (

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 F. Combine oil, applesauce and cocoa. Add sugar and stir until dissolved. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients together and stir into the mixture. Pour the batter into a greased and floured (or wax paper lined & sprayed) 9 inch square pan. Sprinkle on nuts (optional). Bake about 20 to 30 minutes or until top is set but edges are not dried out. Toothpick will come out clean. Cut into 16 or 24 squares.

Tips for Making Applesauce Brownies:

  • Choose the right applesauce. Unsweetened applesauce is the best choice for this recipe, as it allows you to control the sweetness of the brownies and prevents them from becoming too mushy.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in tough, dense brownies. Mix the batter just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the brownies until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached. Overbaking will result in dry, crumbly brownies.
  • Let the brownies cool completely before cutting and serving. This will give them time to set and firm up.
  • Top the brownies with your favorite toppings. Some popular options include chocolate chips, nuts, and caramel sauce.

Conclusion:

Applesauce brownies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. They are moist, flavorful, and sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them. So next time you are looking for a sweet treat, give these applesauce brownies a try. You won't be disappointed!
