1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ cup shortening
1 ¼ cups white sugar
2 eggs
½ cup applesauce
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 13x9 inch baking pan.

1 cup chopped walnuts
1 teaspoon cinnamon

2 cups peeled and finely chopped tart apples (about 2 large)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
