LINDA'S APPLE BROWNIES

Linda's Apple Brownies image

The first time I had these I thought I had died and gone to heaven... This recipe is in the Top 5 for my FAVORITE desserts... Add a scoop of French Vanilla Ice Cream on top of one of these YUMMY brownies when they are warm, is the ULTIMATE in desserts in my opinion! 1-23-08 I did make an adjustment on this recipe. It should have been an 8x8" pan not a 9x13"... No wonder they were coming out crumbly! Also, I use 2 med. McIntosh apples for mine.

Tips:

  • Use ripe, flavorful apples. This will ensure that your brownies are moist and delicious. Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Braeburn apples are all good choices.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can make your brownies tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the brownies until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached. Overbaking will make your brownies dry.
  • Let the brownies cool completely before cutting them. This will help them to hold their shape.
  • Serve the brownies with your favorite toppings. Some popular choices include ice cream, whipped cream, and caramel sauce.

Conclusion:

Aunt Essie's Apple Brownies are a classic dessert that is easy to make and always a hit. With their moist, fudgy texture and sweet, tart apples, these brownies are sure to please everyone. So next time you're looking for a delicious and easy dessert, give Aunt Essie's Apple Brownies a try. You won't be disappointed!
