Tips:

  • Choose ripe avocados: Look for avocados that are dark green or black in color, and slightly soft when gently squeezed. Avoid avocados that are too hard or have brown spots.
  • Use high-quality bacon: Thick-cut bacon will add more flavor and texture to the soup. Look for bacon that is free of nitrates and nitrites.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When cooking the bacon, make sure to leave some space between the slices so that they can crisp up properly.
  • Use a good quality chicken broth: The broth is the base of the soup, so it's important to use a good quality broth that is flavorful and rich. You can use homemade chicken broth or a store-bought broth that is low in sodium.
  • Don't overcook the soup: The avocados should be added to the soup at the end of cooking, and only heated through. Overcooking the avocados will make them mushy.
  • Season to taste: Taste the soup and adjust the seasoning as needed. You may want to add more salt, pepper, or chili powder.

Conclusion:

Avocado and bacon soup is a delicious and easy-to-make soup that is perfect for a quick and easy meal. The combination of creamy avocados, crispy bacon, and flavorful chicken broth makes this soup a winner. Serve it with a side of crusty bread or a salad for a complete meal.
