ALEX'S RAW CHOCOLATE PUDDING

Alex's Raw Chocolate Pudding image

It may seem odd to have a banana and avocado in the same recipe, but the banana completely hides any taste of the avocado. The avocado is there simply for texture and nutritional value. Even my kids love this recipe! You can use any unsweetened milk in this recipe - almond, soy, rice, or coconut - and for a little crunch, use raw cocoa nibs instead of the cocoa powder.

THE RAWTARIAN

Sneak a little avocado into your chocolate with this raw chocolate avocado pudding recipe! A blender is required.

Categories     Raw Puddings and Ice Cream

Time 5m

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 medium avocado (ripe and at peak of perfection please!)
1/2 cup dates
2 1/2 tablespoons raw cocoa powder
1/4 cup water + 1/8 cup water
1 1/2 tablespoons honey
1/8 teaspoon sea salt

Steps:

  • 1. Throw these raw chocolate avocado pudding ingredients into a high-speed blender. Start blending on slow and then crank up the blending speed to high.2. Blend this sucker until puddingy and gooooood! You might need to start and stop this a few times to get it to blend properly because the dates will require more blending than pudding recipes that don't contain dates. If you have a good blender (AKA Vitamix or Blendtec) then you should be able to get this super smooth.3. You may need to add a tiny bit of extra water to facilitate blending. But if doing so only add TINY bits at a time! Try not to add extra water or it'll end up watering it down and changing the consistency.

Raspberry Ganache Fudge Cake - Raw image

From the book Ani's Raw Food Desserts by Ani Phyo. Hello to "home-style" frosting-fresh and not from a plastic tub. Goodness without guilt. I use carob in my cake to cut down on the caffeine, and because I love carob for its malty rich flavor. This cake is to live for, it's one of my favorites.
