Time 2h20m

Yield 36 crackers

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 sleeve country club-style crackers
3/4 cup grated Parmesan
1 pound thinly sliced bacon

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F.
  • Lay the crackers face up on a large rack over a baking sheet (or broiler pan). Scoop about 1 teaspoon of the grated Parmesan onto each cracker. Cut the package of bacon in half (or cut pieces individually) and carefully, so the cheese doesn't fall off, wrap each cheese covered cracker with one half piece of bacon, completely covering the cracker. It should fit snugly around the cracker, but not be pulled too taut. Place the bacon-wrapped crackers onto the rack. Place the baking sheet in the oven for about 2 hours. Serve immediately or at room temperature!

Spicy Peanut Butter Bacon Sliders Recipe - (4.5/5) image

Provided by dkanon

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 pounds ground beef
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespooons sriracha
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter, divided
1 pinch pepper
6 tablespoons butter, softened
12 whole slider buns
12 slices pepper jack or cheddar cheese
12 slices cooked bacon
2 whole jalapenos, sliced
2 cups crispy French fries
1 whole purple onion, sliced

Steps:

  • Preheat a grill to medium-high heat. Mix together the ground beef, soy sauce, sriracha, 2 tablespoons of the peanut butter (you can leave the peanut butter out of the patties if desired) and a pinch of pepper. Divide the beef in 12 balls and flatten each ball into a patty the size of the slider buns. Butter both halves of each bun. When the grill is medium high, place the patties on the grill and cook for 4 minutes. Flip the patties over with a spatula and cook until your desired doneness is reached. During the last 2 minutes of cooking, place a slice of cheese on the top of each patty and close the grill lid. Remove the sliders to a plate and cover with foil. Grab the buttered slider buns and place cut side down on the grill for 1-2 minutes to toast them. Divide the remaining peanut butter among the 12 bottom buns, top each with a burger patty, slice of bacon, jalapenos, crispy fries and red onion. Drizzle with more sriracha, if desired. Cover with the top of the bun and serve immediately!

EXTRA-CRISPY BLT

Extra-Crispy BLT image

Using wavy, thin-cut bacon in a BLT is kind of like putting potato chips in your sandwich: It adds salt and a satisfying crunch when you take a bite. Cook the bacon in the oven (the fastest way to evenly cook a batch), then layer the slices irregularly for more air and optimal texture. Use equal portions of bacon and tomato for a nice balance of crisp and soft, salty and sweet. Thinly sliced iceberg lettuce goes in between the two for freshness and even more crunch, and it helps keep the tomatoes from dampening the bacon. While these steps seem small, together they are the keys to the BLT of your summertime dreams.

Categories     sandwiches, main course

Time 35m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 pound thin-cut bacon, halved crosswise
8 (1/4-inch-thick) slices of large, ripe tomatoes (such as beefsteak, from about 2 12-ounce tomatoes)
Kosher salt and black pepper
1 small head iceberg lettuce
8 slices airy white bread (such as sandwich bread, pain de mie or milk bread)
Mayonnaise and/or Dijon mustard

Steps:

  • Heat the oven to 400 degrees. Line a sheet pan with foil, including up the sides. Arrange the bacon in a single layer on the lined sheet pan, overlapping pieces slightly, if necessary, to fit them all on the pan. Transfer to the oven and cook, without flipping, until deep golden brown and curling in spots, 15 to 25 minutes. (You can put the bacon in as the oven heats up; it will help the fat render.) Transfer the cooked bacon to a paper towel-lined plate. (You can fold and curl the pieces onto the plate; this will add more texture to the final sandwich.)
  • Meanwhile, season the tomatoes with salt and pepper. Cut four 1/4-inch-thick slabs of the iceberg lettuce crosswise. (Make a wedge salad with the rest.) Toast the bread in the toaster or directly on an empty rack in the oven, flipping halfway through.
  • Spread one side of the toasted bread with mayonnaise and/or mustard. Add 2 slices of tomato to half the bread slices. Top with one slab of lettuce, then add the bacon. It will be tricky to lay the bacon flat, and that's good. Arrange them irregularly, so there are pockets of air between the slices.
  • Top with the remaining slices of bread. Press down slightly, cut in half and eat right away.

PEANUT BUTTER, SCALLION, AND BACON CANAPES

Peanut Butter, Scallion, and Bacon Canapes image

Categories     Bake     Cocktail Party     Quick & Easy     Bacon     Peanut     Fall     Gourmet

Yield Makes 36 canapés

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/2 cup peanut butter
6 scallions, chopped
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon mayonnaise plus additional for brushing the bread slices
1 teaspoon brown sugar or granulated sugar
9 slices of homemade-type white bread, crusts removed
6 slices of lean bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces and cooked until almost crisp

Steps:

  • In a small bowl stir together the peanut butter, the scallions, the lemon juice, the soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of the mayonnaise, and the brown sugar. Spread the bread slices lightly with the additional mayonnaise, spread the peanut butter mixture on the slices, and cut the slices into quarters. Arrange the canapés on a baking sheet, put a piece of bacon on top of each canapé, and bake the canapés in the middle of a preheated 425°F. oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the bacon is crisp.

Tips:

  • For crispy toast, use a thick slice of bread and toast it until golden brown and slightly charred.
  • Use creamy peanut butter for a smooth and spreadable filling.
  • Cook the bacon until it is crispy but not overcooked.
  • Add a drizzle of honey or maple syrup for a sweet and savory flavor.
  • Garnish with chopped peanuts or crumbled bacon for extra texture and flavor.

Conclusion:

Bacon and peanut butter on crispy toast is a classic combination that satisfies both sweet and savory cravings. This appetizer is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. Whether you like your toast plain or topped with honey, maple syrup, or even a fried egg, this dish is sure to be a hit at your next party or gathering.
