Tips:

  • Choose the right apples: Use firm, tart apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp. These apples hold their shape well and won't turn to mush when cooked.
  • Peel and core the apples: This will help the apples cook evenly and prevent the skins from toughening.
  • Add some spices: Cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice are all classic spices that pair well with apples. You can also add a pinch of ginger or cloves for a more complex flavor.
  • Use a slow cooker liner: This will make cleanup a breeze. Simply lift the liner out of the slow cooker when you're done cooking.
  • Cook the apples on low for 4-6 hours: This will give the apples time to soften and develop a rich flavor.

Conclusion:

Baked cinnamon apples are a classic fall dessert that is easy to make and always a hit. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a delicious and comforting dish that is perfect for a cold night. Serve the apples warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for a truly special treat.
