Provided by Susan Feliciano

Categories     Cookies

Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 medium ripened bananas
2 large eggs
1/4 c vegetable oil
3 Tbsp water
1 box favorite brownie mix
1/2 c (or more) roughly chopped pecans

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease the bottom of a 9x9" pan.
  • 2. Mash bananas; stir in eggs, oil, and water until well blended. Stir in brownie mix by hand and beat 50 strokes, scraping bowl as you go.
  • 3. Pour batter in pan; sprinkle on chopped pecans. Bake for 30-33 minutes. Cool 10 minutes before slicing.

Tips:

  • Choosing the Right Bananas: Select ripe bananas with brown spots for a sweeter, more flavorful result.
  • Measuring Flour: Use the spoon and level method to ensure accurate measurements.
  • Whisking Dry Ingredients: Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt to distribute the leavening agents evenly.
  • Mixing Wet and Dry Ingredients: Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients a little at a time, mixing until just combined. Overmixing can result in a dense brownie.
  • Stirring in Add-Ins: Fold in the chopped nuts and chocolate chunks gently to avoid overmixing.
  • Baking Time: Bake the brownies until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached.
  • Cooling and Cutting: Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting into squares to ensure clean, even slices.
  • Conclusion:

With these tips in mind, you can create a batch of delectable banana nut brownies that are moist, chewy, and bursting with flavor. Remember to experiment with different nuts, chocolate, and even add-ins like dried fruits or peanut butter chips to customize your brownies to your liking. Happy baking!
