THE "ONLY" BBQ SALMON

The

This recipe is by David Veljacic a Canadian BBQ Champion. You need time to marinade the salmon overnight in the fridge. It is a fantastic recipe. Please read the review by Wayne in Vancouver -I am sure that he knows what he is talking about I suggest that you try it his way. I copied this recipe from either a Vancouver paper or local magazine. Next time I make it I will do as Wayne suggests and if that works I will rewrite the recipe to reflect his comments - Thanks Wayne

Tips:

  • Ensure salmon is fresh: Opt for wild-caught salmon if available, as it's considered to have better flavor and texture. Look for firm, bright-colored flesh with no off odors.
  • Choose the right marinade: Marinating salmon adds flavor and moisture. Use a combination of olive oil, lemon juice, herbs, and spices that complement the salmon's natural taste.
  • Don't overcook the salmon: Salmon is a delicate fish, so it's important to cook it carefully. Aim for an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) for medium-rare or 155°F (68°C) for medium.
  • Use a cedar plank: If you're grilling salmon, using a cedar plank can impart a smoky, woodsy flavor. Soak the plank in water for at least 30 minutes before grilling.
  • Serve with flavorful sides: Grilled vegetables, roasted potatoes, or a fresh salad are all great accompaniments to barbecued salmon.

Conclusion:

Barbecued salmon is a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed for lunch or dinner. With its rich flavor and healthy omega-3 fatty acids, salmon is a great choice for a nutritious meal. Whether you're grilling, baking, or pan-searing, there are many ways to prepare this popular fish. Experiment with different marinades, sides, and cooking methods to find your favorite barbecued salmon recipe.
