I wanted a basic way to cook drumsticks since they are cheaper than the breasts. I didn't want alot of spice or sauce on it so if you are looking that, this is not the recipe for you. We found it just right for us, the flavor of the chicken really comes through. I served with corn and twice baked potato casserole.

OVEN-BAKED CHICKEN DRUMSTICKS
This is the easiest and best way to make great baked chicken. Thoroughly pat the chicken pieces dry with paper towels, then coat them with oil and season generously with salt and pepper. We like to add a little fresh chopped rosemary as well, but you can substitute fresh thyme or oregano. Bake the chicken on a wire rack on an aluminum-foil-lined sheet pan so that hot air can circulate, creating crispy skin on all sides of the chicken.

Tips:
- Choose the right chicken drumsticks: Look for plump and evenly sized drumsticks with a healthy pink color. Avoid any drumsticks that are slimy or have an off odor.
- Prepare the chicken drumsticks: Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture. This will help the seasoning stick better and prevent the chicken from steaming instead of roasting.
- Season the chicken drumsticks: There are many different ways to season chicken drumsticks. You can use a simple salt and pepper rub, or you can get more creative with a variety of herbs and spices. Some popular options include garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cumin, and chili powder.
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to the desired temperature before you start cooking the chicken drumsticks. This will help ensure that the chicken cooks evenly.
- Roast the chicken drumsticks: Place the chicken drumsticks on a baking sheet and roast them in the preheated oven for the specified amount of time. The cooking time will vary depending on the size of the chicken drumsticks and the temperature of the oven.
- Let the chicken drumsticks rest: Once the chicken drumsticks are cooked, remove them from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This will help the juices redistribute throughout the chicken and make it more tender.
Conclusion:
Oven-baked chicken drumsticks are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With a little planning and preparation, you can create a flavorful and juicy dish that will be the star of your next meal. So next time you're looking for a simple and satisfying dinner option, give oven-baked chicken drumsticks a try.
