Time 10m

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 9

Reynolds Wrap® Non-Stick Aluminum Foil
8 slices SARGENTO® Deli Style Sliced Chipotle Cheddar Cheese
2 pounds lean ground beef
2 cups medium salsa, divided
1 cup finely crushed tortilla chips, divided
1 cup chopped green onions, divided
1 tablespoon garlic salt
1 tablespoon chili powder
8 hamburger buns, split

Steps:

  • Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Make drainage holes in a sheet of Reynolds Wrap® Non-Stick Foil with a grilling fork; set aside.
  • Combine ground beef, 1 cup salsa, 1/2 cup tortilla chips, 1/2 cup green onions, garlic salt and chili powder in large bowl until well blended. Shape beef mixture into 8 burgers, 4 inches in diameter and 1/2inch thick.
  • Place foil sheet on grill grate with nonstick (dull) side facing up. Immediately place burgers on foil.
  • Grill burgers uncovered, 5 minutes each side or until no longer pink in center. Grill or lightly toast hamburger buns. Top burgers with 1 slice cheese before removing from grill let melt. Place burgers on buns. Top with remaining salsa, tortilla chips and green onions.

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality venison: Opt for venison that is lean and has a deep red color. Avoid meat that is brown or has a gamey odor.
  • Grind the venison yourself: If possible, grind the venison yourself to ensure that it is fresh and has the desired texture. Use a coarse grind for a heartier burger and a fine grind for a more tender burger.
  • Use a combination of spices: Don't be afraid to experiment with different spices to create a unique flavor profile for your burgers. Some popular choices include chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Don't overmix the meat: Overmixing the meat can result in tough burgers. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
  • Form the burgers gently: Handle the meat gently when forming the burgers to avoid compacting them. Use a light touch and shape the burgers into 1-inch thick patties.
  • Cook the burgers over medium heat: Cooking the burgers over medium heat will help to prevent them from drying out. Cook the burgers for 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F.
  • Let the burgers rest: After cooking, let the burgers rest for a few minutes before serving. This will help the juices to redistribute throughout the burgers, resulting in a more flavorful and juicy burger.

Conclusion:

Blue cheese chipotle venison burgers are a delicious and unique twist on the classic burger. By following these tips, you can create juicy, flavorful burgers that are sure to impress your friends and family. Serve the burgers on your favorite bun with your favorite toppings, and enjoy!
