It is simple to make and is something different from the average sauce. You can use fresh or frozen blueberries for this recipe.

Tips

  • Use fresh blueberries. Fresh blueberries will give your sauce the best flavor. If you don't have fresh blueberries, you can use frozen blueberries, but thawed and drained first.
  • Choose a good quality balsamic vinegar. The balsamic vinegar you use will make a big difference in the flavor of your sauce. Look for a balsamic vinegar that is aged for at least 12 years.
  • Don't overcook the sauce. The sauce should be cooked until it has thickened, but not so long that it becomes too thick and syrupy.
  • Taste the sauce as you go. Adjust the seasonings to your liking. You may want to add more sugar, salt, or balsamic vinegar.
  • Let the sauce cool slightly before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld together.
###

Conclusion

Blueberry basil barbecue sauce is a delicious and versatile sauce that can be used on chicken, pork, beef, or fish. It's also great as a dipping sauce for appetizers or vegetables. The sweet and tangy flavor of the blueberries is perfectly complemented by the savory flavor of the basil. This sauce is sure to be a hit at your next barbecue or party.
